Automotive Cooling Services rebuild / repair (where possible) & supply automotive radiators, water pumps, thermostats for most cars, commercial, plant and agricultural vehicles. We also have a cooling system flush service to remove sludge and deposits from with in the cooling system.
We also diagnose & rectify car heating and ventilation system and electrical problems allied to these systems, this includes climate control systems.
How it works
The temperatures generated when the fuel is burnt (up to 2,000 C) are detrimental to engine operation. Therefore, the engine is cooled down to operating temperature . The first kind of cooling with water was thermosiphon cooling. The heated ,lighter water rises into the upper part of the radiator through a manifold and cooled by the air flow around the radiator.It then sinks down and is returned to the engine. The water is circulating while the engine is running .Cooling was supported by the fan, but regulation was not possible.Later in 1910 a water pump accelerated the water circulation.In the further development of engine cooling thermostats were used to regulate the water circulation through the radiator. This helps shorten warm up times and keep operating temperature constant. However today the correct operating temperature of the engine is not only important with regard to performance and fuel consumption, but also for lower emission of pollutants.
